In May 2006, with pride, I successfully achieved my Masters Degree in Public Health at San Francisco State University. This electronic portfolio is a reflection of my professional and academic experience gained while in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. My MPH relationships and experience have enriched my personal and professional background. Through completion of the MPH program, I am equipped with the tools needed to affect change in the field of Public Health. As a first generation Latina professional and health advocate, I am closely in tune with the health, social, cultural and economic issues disadvantaged populations are faced with. Growing up in the Mission District of San Francisco exposed me to many health and social disparities and therefore naturally compelled me to pursue the betterment of underrepresented communities.
